Rosemary Jamonts
Senior Sales Consultant
Being a local Williamstown girl, how do you think this helps you to be the agent you are?
Being local means being connected. I made the mistake, some years ago, of moving out of the area. I lasted 11 months before homesickness got the better of the whole family and we packed up and moved home to Willy. As the saying goes, sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. I cherish the diversity of people and the homes they live in, the beauty of the streetscapes, beach, waterfront, parks and Williamstown’s colourful history. Most of all it’s about the open, up front attitude of the local people. I could never sell real estate in a place I didn’t absolutely love and be a part of. It just wouldn’t sit right with me.
You have been in the industry for 10 years. What have been the biggest challenges you have overcome along the way?
The biggest challenge for me has been, and continues to be, getting the message across to people I have not met before that I am not your stereotype real estate agent. I don’t like being tarred with the same brush as some others in the industry because of a preconceived idea from the public about agents and the way in which they conduct themselves. I like to very quickly establish my own reputation with people and let my conduct speak for itself. Thankfully I have been around long enough now for many local folks to know about me and how I operate.
What do you enjoy doing with your spare time?
Working as an agent doesn’t give me a lot of spare time. My favourite time every day is at the crack of dawn when we go walking as a family. It’s peaceful and quiet before the day really hits and we get a chance to have a good chat without interruption. After everyone has peeled off I end up with my dog on Williamstown beach. Wonderful, every day!
